Today is my Friday – but it’s Thursday. I am so glad to have a weekend because I’ve been working since Monday last week. Yeah, that’s 11 days in a row. Not quite sure that is legal, but when your staff don’t get out of bed until midday, you’re forced to cover.

Today I did something I have been meaning to do for 10 years, but just never got around to it: Facebook stalk my ex. I was sitting in my office doing the banking, thinking about Valentines Day and the past V-days with ex’s. Then I was like, well, why don’t you have a look and see what he is up to?

He doesn’t live in NZ anymore. Actually, none of my ex’s live in NZ. I am very blessed that I can literally go anywhere in this country and never see an ex-boyfriend. But I can’t say I was disapointed or angry or happy or anything to see his life. I was just like ‘meh’, and moved on. So now I know.

Yesterday afternoon we had a police officer come to work with photographs of shoplifters they caught that day. They had a notebook from our store. And I recognized one of them! I was kind of annoyed, because when they were in the store I remember looking at them and thinking they looked like shoplifters, and then got angry at myself for judging them based on what they looked like. But it turns out I should have listened to my gut instincts.

Today is going by so slowly. I’m a bit annoyed at one of my staff cause she randomly decided to take a day off work, but not tell me or the other manager. Which you kinda can’t do. But she blamed me and said she texted me but I didn’t reply. Which is a lie. I don’t like it when people do that. Plus it’s more things to worry about. I love being a manager, but one of the worst parts of it is dealing with staff.

Off to go create a display now of the new Jojo Moyes Still Me. We just got another box load in and I think I have enough stock to make a cute floor stack.
